A LOVELY DAY....THEN THE BOMBSHELL

A LOVELY DAY ...THEN THE BOMBSHELL:

I went out for my morning walk,

In the early morning sun.

The air was so fresh to the face,

A new day had begun.

I returned home for my breakfast,

And started household chores.

No time to feel lonesome.

No time to feel bored.

Then lunchtime arrived,

Saw some shows on the TV.

It was a lovely Monday,

So evident to see.

I then read for a while.

Then Monday turned rather sour.

For there was a pandemic update,

From the men "In Power"

It looks like we're in for a bad spell,

And have to take special care.

Remain in as much as possible,

Of that I've had my share.

It was a very gloomy update.

Which scared me I confess.

Why Oh why is this world.

In such a terrible mess.

  1. They are saying the same here. I do think you can still do the little you do outside, like go for walks and shopping when you need to. I'm planning to keep that up and still see a few friends outside until it's too cold. And I'm going to finally get my hair cut. We should be save if we're smart about it.

  2. I saw that UK numbers were rising. If you can avoid people, still try to get out for a walk now and then so you don't go nuts.

  3. such a mess because selfish people ruin it for the rest of us. Seeing the news, the problem is folks flocking into restaurants, etc. I think your walk around the block with a mask on is probably okay or a least a step outside. Take care and don't worry - we're all in this together...apart.

  4. Sorry about the news Yvonne. I still think you can get out and about taking walks in your neighborhood especially if no one is around. Those walks can be uplifting for one's mental health I do believe.

    1. It is so frightening Betty, what with winter on the way and the ordinary flu season coming....it dosen't bear thinking about.

A great close Yvonne. One gets the impression that something seems to be not right and the whole is punished to bring it to its senses. The consequences are yet to be determined.

    1. Perhaps you're looking at the situation from a different angle Hank.... but I wish as everyone does it would go away.

  6. That doesn't sound good at all, Yvonne. On our news casts here they paint a bad picture. More cases, more deaths. Some schools that had opened are now closing because the children and teachers are getting the virus. It's sad and screy. Take care.

  8. I've been watching the rise in numbers in the UK, Yvonne! It is sad, and it doesn't bode well for the US which is on an upswing in Coronavirus cases. If you wear a mask and have something over your eyes, you should be okay walking outside, especially if you go at a quieter time. Breezy should help too. It's so important to us mentally to spend some time outside. Please take care and know that I think of you and wish you well every day.
