Welcome to letter G:
G IS FOR GRACELANDS:
Yes folk back in the US,
Visiting Gracelands you see.
I went there many years ago,
Back in 2000 and three.
It was a wonderful day,
There in Memphis Tennessee.
Above is the chandilier inside the erntrance Hall.
Beautiful as you can see.
We walked around the house,
And saw Elvis's costumes in their glory.
I expect every single one,
Could tell a different story.
We visited the music room and kitchen,
Both wonderful I may say.
It was a day to remember,
I would like to say.
Then lastly we saw Elvis's "Resting Place"
In silence we all stood that day..
Tears in everyone's eyes.
Before we went on our way.
What a day to remember.?
When I see it now on TV.
I recall the wonder of being there.
That day in Tennessee.
Its is said that art is one means where one attains immortality

I quite agree with your comment, but sadly it's a fact of life.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for the visit.
Take care.
Yvonne.
Glad you saw Graceland. We did too and were amazed at the different rooms and all of his cars. I liked the commentary by his daughter Lisa Marie and her tales of growing up there. Elvis was just her "dad" and they had fun.
ReplyDeleteNice!
It was a wonderful day as you may well imagine.
Deletehaving gone there yourself...... simply a grand day out.
Take care.
Yvonne.
You know, I've never been to Graceland. Glad you got to see it.
ReplyDeleteIt was a wonderful experience Sandra. Thanks for coming by.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
I haven't been to Graceland either, Yvonne. How lovely that you were able to visit it. The first album I ever bought was Elvis's "Blue Hawaii." I put it on layaway at the drugstore, and it took me four weeks of babysitting before I could take it home. There will only ever be one Elvis!
ReplyDeleteIt was a fantastic day Louise.
