MY REGRET:
My regret about writing is.
I didn't write til later in life.
I found I could put poems together
When I ceased to be a wife.
My first poems were about my hubby,
Also my mother who too had passed away.
It helped me through a difficult time,
That's what I like to say.
Throughout my days of concerts and travelling,
Always a poem to write.
Over the years I've had four books published,
Much to my delight.
Of late during this pandemic,
My writing has taken a back seat.
But my aim my dear friends,
Is to come out of my writing "Retreat".
Have a healthy and peaceful New Year.

Poetry helps me cope with deep feelings as well - especially grief. There's something about putting the words down that is helpful.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a 2022 filled with contentment!

Beautiful. I love when I can tap into my feelings when I write. Historically the scenes that I felt strongly while reading are also the scenes readers most seem to connect with and comment on in reviews.
